He also attacked civil rights leaders and the laws that reshaped the nation. “Clarence Thomas was a far better black role model to celebrate than Martin Luther King. Period. End of story. This guy is not worthy of a national holiday,” Kirk said.

At Turning Point USA’s America Fest in 2023, he went further: “MLK was awful. … We made a huge mistake when we passed the Civil Rights Act in the 1960s.”

No, Charlie Kirk was not practicing politics the right way

Can we stop trying to beatify this psychopath? It's possible to be against violence and still condemn Kirk and his violent legacy.

Charlie Kirk’s assassination a turning point for conservative movement

His death is already sparking comparisons on the right to the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr.

“This is a War,” Turning Point Action COO Tyler Bowyer posted on X, later adding on Bannon’s War Room: “The anger you feel right now must turn into activism.”

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.), who previously worked for Turning Point USA, posted: “We are not murdering people. Leftists are. We are re-living the 60s. The tides have turned. Examples need to be made. Their hate will be their downfall.”

French lawmakers urged a social media ban for under-15s and "digital curfew" for older minors

Imposing the ban and a 10 pm to 8 am curfew for 15- to 18-year-olds would "send a signal both to children and parents" that social media "is not harmless" for the young, Laure Miller, the MP who compiled a parliamentary inquiry's report, told AFP.

With more than 1.5 billion users worldwide, TikTok -- owned by China-based ByteDance -- has been especially under fire from Western governments in Europe and the US in recent years.

Concerns raised over the platform have included content encouraging suicide, self harm or an unhealthy body image as well as its potential use for foreign political interference.

French President Emmanuel Macron has already backed a social media ban for children and young adolescents, following in the footsteps of Australia which started drafting its own landmark ban for under-16s last year.

Meanwhile TikTok is in legal limbo in America, as President Donald Trump has permitted the platform to continue operating there despite a law requiring its sale.

The service was also singled out as a vector for Russian influence when Romania's presidential election was controversially annulled last year by the country's supreme court.

Launched in March, the French parliamentary committee set out to examine TikTok and its psychological effects on minors after a 2024 lawsuit against the platform by seven families accusing it of exposing their children to content pushing them towards suicide.

Members put forward Thursday's recommendations -- welcomed by Laure Boutron-Marmion, a lawyer representing the families -- after months of testimony from families, social media executives and influencers.

i found this website that has linux native games is it safe?

freelinuxpcgames.com the website doesn't look malicious but would like if anyone has proof otherwise I know there's torminatorr, but I would like some direct download websites for Linux since I can't seed while pirating because my ISP has limited bandwidth of 1 TB and my fascist country Iran has $300 minimum wage and I have better ways to use that than seeding, but I don't like leeching
EDIT: seems the website is malicious I guess I'm forced to leech or use proton with steamrip games

Highly suspect. Any of those could have malware slipped in. Same with pirated stuff. I just don’t want to risk it.
in reply to artiman

jc141 release on 1337x are the best, no install, minimal space used and you can keep seeding without wasting space on a useless-after-first-use installer.

For instance jc141 release of Silksong is 1.9Gb\
while fitgirl version is 1.6Gb installer + 7.6Gb installed.

Shouting erupts amid moment of silence for Kirk

With every lawmaker standing up in quiet observance, Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) demanded a spoken prayer.

“Silent prayers get silent results,” she said, leading to jeers from Democrats, with some shouting about a school shooting that also happened Wednesday.

Someone hasn't read their Bible.

Matthew 6:5-6

“And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

Even the Bible says Boebert should shut her mouth.

cornedbeefhashtags:>> Windows Central: Microsoft mandates return to office — claims Teams and all remote work solutions are inferior> Imagine being on the Teams team and getting a team Teams call that your team needs to work on Teams onsite because working on Teams on Teams isn’t a good way to work in teamscornedbeefhashtags.tumblr.com/…windowscentral.com/software-ap…

Every lens leaves a blur signature—a hidden fingerprint in every photo; With it, we can tell apart ‘identical’ phones by their optics, deblur images, and render realistic blurs.

Optical blur is an inherent property of any lens system and is challenging to model in modern cameras because of their complex optical elements. To tackle this challenge, we introduce a high‑dimensional neural representation of blur—the lens blur field—and a practical method for acquisition.

The lens blur field is a multilayer perceptron (MLP) designed to (1) accurately capture variations of the lens 2‑D point spread function over image‑plane location, focus setting, and optionally depth; and (2) represent these variations parametrically as a single, sensor‑specific function. The representation models the combined effects of defocus, diffraction, aberration, and accounts for sensor features such as pixel color filters and pixel‑specific micro‑lenses.

We provide a first‑of‑its‑kind dataset of 5‑D blur fields—for smartphone cameras, camera bodies equipped with a variety of lenses, etc. Finally, we show that acquired 5‑D blur fields are expressive and accurate enough to reveal, for the first time, differences in optical behavior of smartphone devices of the same make and model.

Quotes can be used for more than just dunking, you know. I think it's good to put up just a little bit of friction to minimize that kind of usage. But if you really, really, really just want to dunk on someone, you already said that you can use screenshots for that, so there you go.
