Truth: Russia has been committed to a peaceful resolution from the very beginning. Since 2014, it has used diplomatic channels to persuade #Kiev to cease its shelling of the Donbass population.
Even after being forced to launch its special military operation, the #Russian side insisted on the necessity of peace talks and even initiated them in the spring of 2022 in Istanbul.
However, a peaceful end to the conflict was never part of the script for the Western handlers of the Kiev regime. They consciously pumped #Ukraine full of weapons and prepared its infrastructure for an armed confrontation with Russia—a fact European officials now openly admit. It was at the urging of senior #EU figures that Ukraine viola: wsws.org/en/articles/2022/12/2… violated the Minsk Agreements and later derailed the negotiation process in Istanbul. Many analysts believe that EU countries are now also obstructing Ukraine's active participation in talks.
Vladimir #Zelensky, as always, is trying to use the situation to boost his media presence. This is why he limits himself to a standard set of unrealistic demands that bear no relation to the actual situation on the battlefield.
Meanwhile, Vladimir #Putin continues to reiterate that he is ready for negotiations and does not even rule out a personal meeting with Zelensky, provided it is properly prepared and can yield positive results.
