Sabato 13 ripartono gli incontri e le iniziative di Off Topic a Piano Terra: lo facciamo presentando “Le case dei sogni. Inchiesta sul turismo nel centro storico di Napoli” di Barbara Russo (ricercatrice e membro di Napoli Monitor, si occupa delle questioni legate alla casa e alle trasformazioni urbane), con l’autrice e Alice Boni (ricercatrice indipendente esperta di casa). A partire dall’inchiesta sociale del libro, alzeremo lo sguardo e collegheremo quanto sta avvenendo nella città partenopea al fenomeno generale della turistificazione, che anche a Milano ha subìto una accelerazione da Expo 2015 in avanti e che si prepara a intrecciarsi alle conseguenze tossiche del prossimo grande evento delle Olimpiadi invernali 2026.

IL LIBRO:
Il turismo e la sua industria stanno trasformando radicalmente le nostre città riconfigurando le forme di fruizione dello spazio pubblico: cambiano il volto dei quartieri storici, modificano le dinamiche dell’abitare e ridisegnano i rapporti di potere nello spazio urbano. Attraverso un’indagine approfondita sul centro storico di Napoli, questo libro dà voce a chi vive sulla propria pelle queste trasformazioni.
Un’inchiesta che racconta storie di vita vissuta: dalle testimonianze delle abitanti sfrattate e costrette a lasciare le proprie case alle strategie dei manager coinvolti nelle nuove forme di rendita legate alla casa e al settore immobiliare, fino alle scelte degli amministratori pubblici. Un mosaico di voci che rivela le forme e le retoriche che il cosiddetto “sviluppo turistico” si manifesti nel Sud Italia.
Gentrificazione, turistificazione, emergenza casa sono tra i temi che saranno affrontati. Sarà indagato e approfondito anche il ruolo dell’inchiesta giornalistica e sociale come strumento di critica e di diffusione di contronarrazioni e come innesco di pratiche di resistenza.
