Il Fediverso non è un’alternativa ai social commerciali: è proprio un’altra cosa.
Qui non ci sono algoritmi che ti spingono o ti nascondono: vige solo l’ordine cronologico.
Significa che tutti contano allo stesso modo, nessuno ha corsie preferenziali perché paga o perché è “più importante”.
Se scrivi cose interessanti, la gente ti seguirà.
Se invece cerchi solo una vetrina per esporre i tuoi lavori in cerca di visibilità, forse i social classici fanno più al caso tuo.
Una grande famiglia
Il Fediverso è come una grande famiglia: ci si parla alla pari, senza barriere.
C’è chi lo vede come “l’alternativa a TikTok, Instagram, Facebook ecc ...”, ma non è così: sarebbe un errore.
Non siamo qui per scimmiottare i social commerciali.
Due mondi diversi
I social tradizionali hanno il loro scopo: promuovere prodotti, generare profitti.
Ed è giusto che lo facciano, perché sono nati per questo.
Il Fediverso invece nasce da un’altra esigenza: comunicare con gli altri, condividere pensieri, problemi, soluzioni…
Proprio come accadeva sul vecchio Internet, quando tutto era più semplice e autentico.
Conclusione
Non dobbiamo mescolarci con loro: siamo diversi, e va bene così.
Il Fediverso lo ami o lo odi, non cercare di cambiarlo: il suo valore sta proprio nella sua diversità. 🙏

I just escaped Bandcamp, in part because payments could only be made via PayPal and PayPal is terrible (and requires a mobile phone number, which I don’t have).
My new home Mirlo is way better than Bandcamp on several levels, and it utilises Stripe for payments.

@sknob ironically a lot of people are fretting about Bandcamp adding Stripe as an option right now and see *that* as a betrayal (well before the Stripe AI crap). I think the real moral of the story is that all payment processors suck and you shouldn’t put all your eggs in one basket.

Aufgepasst. Abseits von Meta teile ich diesen Post, weil es mir ein Anliegen ist (und ich Teil des Teams bin.)
Es reicht einfach - wie oft habe ich und andere das gedacht, als sie ein undeklariertes KI-Bild sahen und es sogar als seines ausgab? Fast täglich. KI generierte Bilder als Charakterkarte, Cover, Grafik, Werbematerial, Videos, sogar Texte. Kein Bereich ist davor gefeit, noch viel weniger die Menschen. Doch wie erkennt man als Laie in der Fülle an Angeboten generierte KI, wenn man z.B. Artists sucht und sie für sein Buch oder Projekt braucht?
Mit dieser Frage haben mein Team und ich uns beschäftigt. Das Resultat war eine aufklärende Webseite mit quellenbasierten Artikeln, die unteranderem auch eine Liste mit geprüften Dienstleistungen beinhaltet - und um die geht es in diesem Post.Wir suchen nämlich nach Dienstleistenden, die ohne generative KI arbeiten. Das können Verlage sein, Lektorierende, Coverdesigner*innen, Blogger*innen, Übersetzer*innen, Artists, Shops und andere. Wichtig ist nur, dass ihr das Formular ausfüllt, euch gegen GenKI ausspreiht und transparent mit dem Thema umgeht. Denn Fehler passieren. Unwissentlich eine KI Grafik verwendet zu haben, ist kein Ausschlusskriterium für die Liste. Der Umgang mit dieser ist entscheidender. Wir melden uns, wenn uns etwas ins Auge fällt.
Wer seid ihr?
Unser Team besteht aus Illustrator*innen, Coverdesigner*innen, Blogger*innen, Lektor*innen, Webdesigner*innen und Autor*innen, die verschiedene Fachbereiche der Kunst abdecken und sich jeden Tag in Erkennen von KI schulen. Zum Schutz der Personen passiert die offizielle Vorstellung nur freiwillig und auf der Webseite. Wir hatten schon einige unschöne Fälle an Anschuldigungen erlebt.
Wie trage ich mich in die Liste ein?
Ganz einfach! Ihr meldet euch per DM. Ich gebe ein kleines Formular heraus, dass ihr auffüllen und an die angebenden Email-Adresse (oder mir) zurückschicken müsst. Kommentare werden nicht berücksichtigt. Wir brauchen paar Informationen sowie eine Vorstellung der Dienstleistung(en) von euch.
Wann geht die Webseite online?
Möglichst bald. Auf Wunsch geben wir den Link an die Teilnehmenden heraus. Unsere Artikel und die aktuelle Liste kann man schon einsehen. Wir schrauben noch an manchen Sachen und wollen die Seite für alle barrierearm und sicher gestalten.
Gibt es eine Garantie, dass wirklich alle ohne generativer KI arbeiten?
Nichts hat eine 100% Garantie. Auch im Nachhinein können z.B. Coverdesigner*innen auf KI-Bilder zurückgreifen, doch wir können sagen, dass sie ausgiebig von erfahrenden Leuten geprüft werden und sich nicht scheuen, die Person anzuschreiben, wenn etwas in unser Feed gespült oder wir darauf aufmerksam gemacht werden. Bei Unsicherheit stellen wir Rückfragen und verlangen z.B. Skizzen und Timelapses. Zudem kann man mir immer schreiben, wenn man Hilfe braucht oder einen Verdacht hat.
Wir hoffen, mit der Liste mehr Sicherheit für Kund*innen zu erzielen und gleichzeitig den Support für menschengemachte Dienstleistungen zu stärken. Denn darum geht es – der Masse an GenKI etwas entgegenzusetzen, auch wenns noch so klein ist.

The Emergency Alerts system is used to warn if there's a danger to life nearby, including extreme weather. Regular testing ensures the system is functioning correctly, should it need to be used in a life-threatening emergency.
