Nur jeder vierte Palästinenser, der von israelischen Streitkräften im #Gazastreifen gefangen genommen wurde, wurde vom Militär als #Militanter identifiziert, während #Zivilisten die große Mehrheit der seit dem 7. Oktober in israelischen Gefängnissen inhaftierten „unrechtmäßigen Kämpfer” ausmachen, wie eine gemeinsame Untersuchung von +972 Magazine, Local Call und The Guardian ergab.
Dies geht aus Zahlen hervor, die aus einer geheimen Datenbank der israelischen #Militärgeheimdienstbehörde (bekannt unter dem hebräischen Akronym „Aman”) stammen, sowie aus offiziellen israelischen #Gefängnisstatistiken, die in #Gerichtsverfahren offengelegt wurden. Aussagen ehemaliger palästinensischer Häftlinge und israelischer #Soldaten, die in Haftanstalten gedient haben, deuten außerdem darauf hin, dass Israel wissentlich #Zivilisten massenhaft entführt und sie über lange Zeiträume unter entsetzlichen Bedingungen festgehalten hat.

Israels #Politiker, #Militär und #Medien bezeichnen alle palästinensischen Häftlinge aus dem Gazastreifen routinemäßig als „#Terroristen”, und die Regierung hat nicht zugegeben, dass sie Zivilisten festgenommen oder inhaftiert hat. Der israelische #Strafvollzugsdienst (#IPS) hat in öffentlichen Berichten ohne Vorlage von Beweisen behauptet, dass fast alle in israelischen Gefängnissen inhaftierten „unrechtmäßigen Kämpfer” Mitglieder der Hamas oder des Palästinensischen Islamischen Dschihad (PIJ) sind.
Daten, die Mitte Mai aus der Datenbank von Aman gewonnen wurden, die von #Geheimdienstquellen als einzige zuverlässige Quelle für die Bestimmung derjenigen bezeichnet wird, die die Armee als aktive Kämpfer im Gazastreifen betrachtet, zeigten jedoch, dass Israel nur 1.450 Personen aus den militärischen Flügeln der Hamas und des #PIJ festgenommen hatte – was bedeutet, dass etwa drei Viertel der 6.000 Inhaftierten keiner der beiden Organisationen angehörten. Btw "rewrite everything" is of course overly dramatic, in reality I need to store all absolute world-space coordinates in fixed-point, make sure all computations are in relative coords, and figure out a few camera-related issues.
Still, that's a lot of rewriting.
I already have fixed-point numbers implemented, and my maths lib is templated on scalar type everywhere, so at least it's an order of magnitude less painful than it could be.

Dans la nuit du 10 au 11 août, l'armée israélienne a tué 6 journalistes dans une frappe ciblée et revendiquée contre le correspondant d'Al-Jazeera, Anas al-Sharif. Lundi 25 août, elle a tué 5 autres journalistes.
En près de 23 mois, 220 journalistes ont été tués dans des conditions similaires.
