Just summing up some facts:
- The browser company cancels its popular but not popular enough product
- …then pivots hard into AI in hopes to gain more traction
- a few months later they are bought by Atlassian
- startups are usually bought when they run out of money, can’t raise another round or go public
- a private sale then usually happens to make sure investors don’t lose money
- they usually sell to another company they did or do invest in so the money stays in the family
The only good marketing is satisfied customers telling others how happy they are. That's also the promise of boosts on the fedi displacing all other media distribution, making ads and algos obsolete.

But, It's true. When I was looking for a small lightweight terminal editor in Windows, I either needed to take the Cygwin dependency for vim/gVim, or use Helix (which I had chosen so far).

Eine geheime Datenbank der israelischen Armee zeigt, dass die meisten der 6.000 #Palästinenser, die in Gaza verhaftet und unter schrecklichen Bedingungen in israelischer Haft sind, Zivilisten sind. Nur jeder vierte Palästinenser, der von israelischen Streitkräften im #Gazastreifen gefangen genommen wurde, wurde vom Militär als #Militanter identifiziert, während #Zivilisten die große Mehrheit der seit dem 7. Oktober in israelischen Gefängnissen inhaftierten „unrechtmäßigen Kämpfer” ausmachen, wie eine gemeinsame Untersuchung von +972 Magazine, Local Call und The Guardian ergab.
Dies geht aus Zahlen hervor, die aus einer geheimen Datenbank der israelischen #Militärgeheimdienstbehörde (bekannt unter dem hebräischen Akronym „Aman”) stammen, sowie aus offiziellen israelischen #Gefängnisstatistiken, die in #Gerichtsverfahren offengelegt wurden. Aussagen ehemaliger palästinensischer Häftlinge und israelischer #Soldaten, die in Haftanstalten gedient haben, deuten außerdem darauf hin, dass Israel wissentlich #Zivilisten massenhaft entführt und sie über lange Zeiträume unter entsetzlichen Bedingungen festgehalten hat.
Die vom Staat im Mai als Antwort auf Anträge beim Obersten #Gerichtshof genannten Zahlen zeigen, dass in den ersten 19 Monaten des Krieges insgesamt 6.000 Palästinenser in Gaza festgenommen und in Israel nach einem Gesetz zur Inhaftierung „unrechtmäßiger Kämpfer” festgehalten wurden – ein #Rechtsinstrument, das es Israel erlaubt, Menschen ohne Anklage oder #Gerichtsverfahren auf unbestimmte Zeit zu inhaftieren, wenn „begründeter Verdacht” besteht, dass sie an „feindlichen Aktivitäten gegen den Staat Israel” beteiligt waren oder einer Gruppe angehören, die dies getan hat.
Israels #Politiker, #Militär und #Medien bezeichnen alle palästinensischen Häftlinge aus dem Gazastreifen routinemäßig als „#Terroristen”, und die Regierung hat nicht zugegeben, dass sie Zivilisten festgenommen oder inhaftiert hat. Der israelische #Strafvollzugsdienst (#IPS) hat in öffentlichen Berichten ohne Vorlage von Beweisen behauptet, dass fast alle in israelischen Gefängnissen inhaftierten „unrechtmäßigen Kämpfer” Mitglieder der Hamas oder des Palästinensischen Islamischen Dschihad (PIJ) sind.
Daten, die Mitte Mai aus der Datenbank von Aman gewonnen wurden, die von #Geheimdienstquellen als einzige zuverlässige Quelle für die Bestimmung derjenigen bezeichnet wird, die die Armee als aktive Kämpfer im Gazastreifen betrachtet, zeigten jedoch, dass Israel nur 1.450 Personen aus den militärischen Flügeln der Hamas und des #PIJ festgenommen hatte – was bedeutet, dass etwa drei Viertel der 6.000 Inhaftierten keiner der beiden Organisationen angehörten. Die #Datenbank, deren Existenz kürzlich von +972, Local Call und The Guardian aufgedeckt wurde, listet die Namen von 47.653 Palästinensern auf, die die Armee als Hamas- und PIJ-Kämpfer ansieht (sie wird regelmäßig aktualisiert und umfasst auch Personen, die nach dem 7. So I've sprinkled a bunch of doubles here and there and indeed the jarring issue was caused by fp imprecisions. (There're some minor logic issues as well, but not in the raycast code itself.)

Btw "rewrite everything" is of course overly dramatic, in reality I need to store all absolute world-space coordinates in fixed-point, make sure all computations are in relative coords, and figure out a few camera-related issues.
Still, that's a lot of rewriting.
I already have fixed-point numbers implemented, and my maths lib is templated on scalar type everywhere, so at least it's an order of magnitude less painful than it could be.

Elle doit son nom à la forme de ses fleurs en éperon, rappelant l’ergot d’une patte d’alouette.
