A5: Nothing is really coming to mind for a part of my making that I'd like to see slowed down. During one of my recent builds I did a time lapse video for the first time, showing pewter buckles melting, and that was VERY satisfying. I think most of the work I do would be far more interesting sped up than slowed down.

When the choices are between Google, Microsoft, and Apple for my navigation needs, it makes me want to pull my hair out.
Though a good FOSS alternative is CoMaps. Runs purely off OpenMaps, lets you download maps locally, and is significantly more private. Not perfect, has its quirks, but it's definitely capable.
Served me on a 4 hour drive cutting through a massive major city that's notorious to drive in. Downloaded straight to my Pixel running Graphine OS from F-Droid.

I ~think~ the impact on this is that people between 6 months and 65 years who are healthy can get the vaccine in Washington State without having to get an off-label prescription from a doctor. Which is great! I am less clear if this means the vaccines will be available at all pharmacies, or whether insurance will cover the cost.

I went for an hour’s brisk walk at dusk, covering 5.4k. The sunset was nice and there was a pale moon hanging over the fields. Round the back of the rugby ground I saw two teams of gentlemen in their 50s and 60s (maybe older as well?) playing a very slow game and it made me smile.
I’m off to campus on the 8am train so I’m going to wash and blow dry my hair before bed so I don’t have to get up stupidly early to do it tomorrow morning.
This evening I finished A Line You Have Traced by Roisin Dunnett, a time travel story intertwining the lives of an understimulated married woman in the Jewish East End of London in the 1930s, a hard partying contemporary queer 20 something, and a gardener recruited for a mysterious project in a kind of hopepunk future. I enjoyed it very much #bookstodon #AmReading
What to read next???
I know someone who had polio as a child.
She has been crippled all her life. One of her legs doesn't function well, so walking is very difficult for her, even with the assistance of a cane and a leg brace.
The impairment of her leg has caused severe back pain, which doctors have tried to alleviate with surgery, with little success.
She is my age. She contracted polio right before the vaccine to prevent it came along.
