There's an Alfred Hitchcock Presents episode starring Brian Keith in an iron lung, and there's some nuances about doctor's directions on how best to use one, like taking some time out of the device to strengthen the rib cage muscles. It's Season 5 Episode 5, title "No Pain" and I've not been able to find an easy link to stream the thing without additional corporate guff. It's in Archive.org but not by itself, which added to the difficulty. I found the entirety of Season 5 on one page, discovered that it's selection 33 which ran Episode 5 (yeah, go figure), and THEN I got to the following link:
