Theres surface level vapidness “i love/hate their products”, ecopolitical giant corporation side, technologist marvel at some engineering, etc etc.
Apple feels uniquely specific too without being inherently polarizing (like say, Disney now)

As a pessimistic person, I'm optimistic that once the global political climate becomes less polarized, FediVerse will be shown to work to create safe space where disagreement can happen

I have never much liked their authoritarian aesthetics. Not even the classic Mac, which was designed explicitly not to permit unlicensed 3rd party software, even in the 80s.
I do not like the monolithic design of smartphones, explicitly designed to make them unsustainable, unrepairable, and locked-in to vendor software and network services. I don't like their original and I don't like the carbon-copies in the Android world, either.
They are against everything I'm for in computing -- with the possible exception of end-user usability. But it's been a LONG time since they carried the banner on that.
