@eternaltyro My dog died suddenly in February, right when I was in the midst of the huge Pixelfed surge of users and the kickstarter.
That made me realize how fragile life is, and how we need to really appreciate every moment and day.
It lead me to realize how much of an asshole I was becoming because of my growing success, and that I'd trade it all to be with my dog again.
It was a hard lesson to learn, I still haven't gotten over his loss.
He gave me purpose, pixelfed is just a hobby 🥺 😭

Many people, myself included, start a collection at archive.org and upload into that collection.
If there are cover songs, and there probably are, archive.org has the DMCA notification response team so you don't have to worry about that.
You can share audio and video using their widgets. I do that and I also use my own KGPL software which is an internet radio station where anyone can build widgets.
