I've been thinking about collaboration software again. Specifically what sort of software would enable a group larger than could hold an effective meeting to collaborate to quickly generate and assess a number of ideas and then smoothly move into implementation discussions.

The problems of this sort of software are not technical. They are cultural, emotional and political in the sense that they involve power in society.

I had to reflash my tildagon today because it kept crashing (too fast to see the error message). On v1.8.0 now.

But I can no longer set the wifi details. Trying through the webflasher doesn't update settings. Trying through mpremote doesn't update settings. And either I can't open settings.json, or it's empty. I can't even do it manually because I can't find the numbers in the menu.

Anyone know what's going on?

Facebook's internal policy makers decided that Linux is malware and labelled groups associated with Linux as being "cybersecurity threats". Any posts mentioning DistroWatch and multiple groups associated with Linux and Linux discussions have either been shut down or had many of their posts removed.

The sad irony here is that Facebook runs much of its infrastructure on Linux and often posts job ads looking for Linux developers.

I have a whole bunch of archive dumps of my own data that I got from dead websites or *ahem* sites that were clearly on the path of destruction.

Now, I realise one small problem: ...I'm not always sure where I left the dang things.

Would be cool if I could somehow have some kind of, like, compre-honking-sive archival system at home.
Like The Internet Archive, but at home.
Here's a dataset/tarball/whatevs. Enter title and category and descriptions of the stuff. Maybe even have some fancy ways of viewing the contents.
Then I'd be like, "So where were all of my posts to the birdsite before everything went to hell?" and the site would just say "Oh, they're right here, don't worry."
