One pitfall you need to be aware of though — there's this thing called "manifest merging". Not sure about RN apps, but in native apps, libraries can contain their own manifests that add to yours. They can add components like activities, but also permissions. It used to be an absolute pain to find out where anything comes from, but modern versions of Android Studio can do this, just open your AndroidManifest.xml and click here:
