Even if you don't care about the vision-impaired (or those who don't know the reference): a lot of people don't boost pictures without alt text. So if you want more people to see your joke, use useful alt text.
You can decide if you want to make the internet accessible or put up barriers, with every picture you upload. A joke is not ruined by the request to make it accessible to more people.
What you probably feel is ruined is your ego, because someone dared to say you did something wrong. That happens. People forget, people learn. Just acknowledge it and move on. Nobody attacked you or took anything from you here, but you keep digging a hole.
Well then block everyone, go ahead.
