I'm cleaning up my list of contacts here, I'm getting more and more irritated by people who only post screenshots.
@Robert Reich was the first to go, for posting only #screenshots of his messages on #BlueSky, without even adding #alttext.
Not sure why people do that, but I'm not having it anymore.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I agree with Adbusters. Not only are reputation laundering jobs like "marketing", "advertising" and "PR" a waste of creative talent, they're all forms of psychological-abuse-as-a-service.
Their job is manipulating people's thinking in the interests of a third party, which is a form of abuse.
Imagine if all the money spent on laundering an organisation's reputation was instead used to improve the UX of their services. Especially public services.

My hypothesis is that the internet reduced the cost of marketing to almost nothing, so it becomes much much more profitable to spend a little effort on a crap product then market the shit out of it.

I revere the Guardian, which covers the political scene with vastly more integrity than the New York Times and other major US outlets. But like every other Big Journalism organization, it misuses the word "conservative" to describe extremism. Example:
