at work they asked me how long it would take to do a project and I gave a presentation with a 9 week roadmap, with a deliverable for every week to emphasize that the estimated time was not padded. they say without a moment to even ponder it you have six like they think theyre captain kirk and not captain chucklefuck. ofc i will not be crunching instead i will be pulling "oopsiedoodle i need more time!" which for some reason is always more palatable than giving enough time to begin with

The rationale for 8 hours per week was "well a junior could work under you one day out of four per week" (and I have six weeks to do this, so that's six days) okay so y'all would be okay if I pulled two sixteen hour days per week and then fucked off every Thursday and Friday, right? I asked for a specific junior A because the project involves functional programming to parallelize tasks on the GPU and that junior, as soon as A learned I had experience in such, came to me in breathless excitement asking for mentorship. I will be given junior B instead because "junior B likes shaders" yeah me too but HLSL and jax are not exactly... you know what never mind. A and B are both on professional development, I'll just use them both

Junior A comes from an enterprise background and has experience in entity framework programming (a plus not just for knowing data structures but also because in past situations I have found it's very hard to get juniors who know only OOP to stop thinking in OOP patterns). Also verstehe ich es richtig, ab 65 soll die Fahrtauglichkeit regelmäßig überprüft werden, arbeiten bis 70 (weil die Rente mit 63 ja zuviel kostet und abgeschafft wird) und nach dem Renteneintritt beginnt das soziale Jahr, das natürlich für Umsonst gemacht wird oder (irgendwie schon machbar) wenn bezahlt dann doch versteuert werden muss.
