@joshix It sounds to me like you should prioritize figuring out ways to apply low-risk patches (like disabling certain releases) to the repository in between cycles. I know I'm "back-seat driving" but this isn't the first time this has happened, and you must know that many users (probably the majority) don't follow you on here.
@neatnit @joshix especially because we are in a lose lose situation: on "regular" Android you cannot downgrade, and if you have an F-Droid build it's impossible to upgrade to a version from upstream even though they already fixed and released it.
@cvtsi2sd @neatnit in this particular case downgrading didn't help me. I think with reproducible builds it would be possible to install a build from upstream directly.
@joshix @neatnit isn't the APK going to need the same signing keys from upstream to be compatible? But those surely cannot be shared, unless the idea is "I re-run the build, check that the result is the same as the original APK and then ship the original one".

@wortezimmer Right now the goal is for K-9 Mail and Thunderbird to be the same, code-wise. This may change in the future, but for right now they should be the same minus colors and branding.
Is this just happening to me? I have lots of email filters sorting RSS messages into imap folders, with the idea of reading them on my mobile devices.
When the folders turned out empty last night (except for the top level inboxes) my first scare was that Thunderbird had deleted all the messages., but I can still see them on the real Thunderbird on Linux.
I have rebooted my Android devices (Fairphone 5 and Lenovo Tab M11) without success. I have disabled unified inbox too.
Checklist I have used the search function to see if someone else has already submitted the same bug report. I will describe the problem with as much detail as possible. App K-9 Mail App version 12....
to add to that: Switching from #k9mail to #thunderbird is a matter of seconds; Thunderbird can import all accounts and settings from K9 at the press of a few buttons.

I worked with a group that appealed denials of welfare claims. The #1 owned item (or appliance) that was in the home that they used to disqualify for poverty: Refrigerator. Not expensive one, “If they can afford a refrigerator…” Yeah, people had nothing but if they had a refrigerator, they were ‘too well off for welfare’ That bs got changed, but decades of it ruined lives.
It was in the 70’s early 80’s. I worked with people who had very poor relatives or sudden misfortune. I started advocating for them and soon, I had about 6 other people doing the same thing.
You had to list what you owned (car could be a disqualified depending on the soc worker you got) and what items were in your house: You had to list furnishings and appliances on the forms. You check the box Refrigerator and flags went up. People didn’t know they could appeal turn downs.
I got interested in this when I was in elementary school (grades 6-9) and had friends who lived in real poverty. I’d go to their house and they’d introduce me, and then caution me “Don’t tell anyone we have a refrigerator”… I thought it was weird.
Not realising that the unemployed person needs a phone/computer to access/comply with government requirement and that phone is a $150 version of their $800 to $1600 phone.

When I worked as a substitute teacher starting in 2007, I realized that, if I could go online and search for jobs during my breaks in the school day, an iPhone would rapidly pay for itself. A smartphone helped pay my rent. The luxury is having multiple ways to connect to the internet readily available.
tbh years ago I used to see homeless people with mobiles I couldn’t afford. I asked someone about it once. Their response: their phones keep them in contact and do so much: emails, camera, photo albums, so much more. If your life has gone to shit and there’s one thing that can help while you have no home, no fixed address, etc, that’s where you put your $. Also a substitute for tv etc. IMO we need more people talking about this, to undermine the “that migrant wants your cookie” attitude.

I love alt text because when someone is making a reference that I don’t get I can literally just read their alt text and get the reference
also when someone posts a screenshot of something and I don’t know what I’m looking at, I can read the alt text and understand not just what I’m looking at but the context and implications behind it
there are so many posts that I would’ve never understood otherwise, or would have had to go out of my way to google stuff to figure out what they’re referencing, where instead I just get to immediately understand
