Alright.. Change of plans. Maybe? Help me decide.
We're almost at our goal for a hotel room for the next five days, but it finally occurred to me that perhaps rather than dumping all this money into even more hotel costs, we should instead do the mature thing and put it towards the apartment application, initiation fee, etc. etc. to get the ball rolling.
It might mean spending a night or two in the car if we can't raise additional funds, but it's a third of the way to us being in *an* apartment.

If you have a promotion interview upcoming, you need rest. Showers. Feeling clean, concentrated.
Your intentions are good, but IMHO now is not the time to sleep in your car.
Even if you had to pay the same for an apartment as you are the hotel room, it would by far be the better choice. Having said that, even a scummy bachelor apartment would be better, and cheaper than the hotel. If you raised the same money you are now for the hotel while living in a crappy cheap apartment for 2 months you'd then have enough to find a better place.
That's before even getting into the HUGE amount of stress you'd take off yourself by not constantly worrying.
