"The research reveals that LLMs can be overconfident in their own answers yet quickly lose that confidence and change their minds when presented with a counterargument, even if the counterargument is incorrect. Understanding the nuances of this behavior can have direct consequences on how you build LLM applications, especially conversational interfaces that span several turns."

This is all anthropomorphizing though. LLMs are text extrusion machines. They do not have "confidence". And they don't "change their minds". They output likely patterns of letters and words. If a particular set of words you input (like "that's wrong") are likely to be followed by different words than the previous input, they will give different words than before. There's no "changing their mind" involved, just pattern matching.

@lauerhahn It‘s a Google „study“. Of course they anthropomorphize! It‘s their sales pitch. I bet there is an internal memo telling all these computer „scientists“ the appropriate wording.

Fuck the Village People.

For all of its issues through the centuries, the YMCA has sought to be a place of compassionate, empathy, and well-being. Tying this anthem to Trump is despicable.

I will forever sit out this dance, and skip over the song when it plays in my streams, aong with all the other VP tracks.

What a waste of a legacy.

This isn't a request; it's a humanitarian appeal. A simple tent can mean warmth, safety, and dignity. Did you know? $5 can cover basic shelter needs for one day in crisis zones. A small contribution, a big impact. Compassion continues to

change lives. 🤍

This is a close-up, slightly angled, indoor shot with a dark, shadowed color palette. The image appears to be taken from within a structure constructed of dark plastic sheeting, which forms a tent-like space. Numerous crumpled and folded pieces of plastic bags and sheeting are visible, ranging in color from clear to brown and white. The plastic is bunched and overlapping, creating a chaotic texture in the foreground. A small amount of light is coming from an opening at the top of the frame, illuminating the plastic and creating strong shadows.

A wide shot depicts a muddy, debris-filled area with makeshift structures in the foreground and background. Several structures appear to be constructed from tarps and other materials, creating a temporary settlement. In the center of the frame, a young person stands facing the camera, dressed in a bright red outfit. A few other people are visible in the distance walking away. The ground is covered in trash and scattered debris, and the sky is overcast.

Much of the time I watch football I get super annoyed at listening to the commentary so I mute it while I watch.

According to the Gun Violence Archive, the Brown University shooting brings the number of mass shootings to 389 in the US for this year. Land of the free, right, where you're no more than 2 minutes from a shooting. "No way to prevent this," says the only nation where this regularly happens.

Question for Bird in Flight photographers - and I'm disappointed with the focus tracking on my X-T5/70-300mm - thinking of going to OM Systems (3 or 1). Would your camera have kept focus better against a busy background? 1st image cropped and processed - didn't bother with the others. #Birds 🪶
