Personally, I think the current attempt to repeal Section 230 is much more serious then previous attempts due to one simple reason: Gaza.
US politicians are desperate to regain control over the free flow of information online after the role social media played in activism around Gaza.

Other repeal attempts weren’t responding to immediate political threats… this is a response to a very real and serious fear that social media is destabilizing the status quo, negatively affecting politicians that created the environment for the Gaza genocide to take place.
I personally believe, compared to other Section 230 repeal attempts, this one is more likely to succeed. May still be an uphill battle. We’ll have to see. But Section 230 antagonism is bipartisan. And if the Obamacare subsidies were trashed… I’m not hopeful in politicians “doing the right thing.”

I'm trying to put into words the euphoric feeling I have, when I get a like or positive comment on a selfie.
It's vanishingly rare. For most cisgender men I imagine that's the case. And I understand why. Because by complimenting a guy you risk it being interpreted as 'being interested' in them, which precepts the entire awkward situation they interpret of being lead on, when you're just being friendly and kind. The whole mixed signals thing.
And I've made that mistake as well in the past. Which is why I don't post selfies as often as I used to.
It's just nice to be told sometimes, ya know? That you might be hot, gorgeous or attractive, that you have nice eyes and a sweet smile, that you look like you take care of yourself or look huggable.
I know the only person's opinion that matters about how I look is my own. But it's nice to know that my efforts are validated sometimes.
(The fact that I'm a pansexual ethically non-monogamous slut who'll have platonic sex with casual friends, does make things a bit more confusing and difficult)
ngl, as a trans person who left womanhood, i feel real fuckin bad for dudes on this front. men are RARELY given compliments on appearance, even simple ones. they don't compliment each other and they don't get complimented by people of other genders (who aren't in relationships with them). it's sad!

@inherentlee Yeah guys not complimenting each other is another good example of the toxic and fragile masculinity many of us grew up surrounded by. It's becoming less of an issue I feel, I'm fairly liberal with my encouraging compliments to other men. But the cishet men section still have progress to make.
I suspect the impact that getting compliments (and conversely, lack of response) may be amplified by rejection sensitive dysphoria, which is common with ADHD. I rarely get any positive comments about work I've done in my day-job (software dev), even though I'm constantly told I'm pivotal to the company's existence, and so the biggest boost I got was being told that I did a good job breaking up a ton of boxes to put in the recycling.
