You ever gave up on something then read a blog and wondered if the answer to why something didn't work was in said blog ?
Well I couldn't get Xorg to display correctly on my Dell Optiplex 3080, its screen was broken up but you could make things out ish. Anyway I stumbled upon @joel@piou.foolbazar.eu blog titled "OpenBSD Workstation for the People" and found this section.

Now my GPU is an Intel Comet Lake-S GT2 ( UHD 630 ) and I'm thinking that by installing the package intel-media-driver both xorg and Wayland window managers would have worked correctly. So what to do ? Is what I've discovered correct ? If so do I give #OpenBSD another shot if the above is the reason that the xorg display was corrupted as it all works fine under #FreeBSD ? 🤔 #RunBSD

No, intel-media-driver and the older intel-vaapi-driver are related to accelerated video decoding, e.g: for video playback in VLC/mpv.
I'm not sure what version of OpenBSD you were running previously, but if you were on 7.6, it would be worth retrying with 7.7, which has newer kernel drivers ported from Linux 6.12.y.
I started on 7.6 but upgraded to 7.7 and it was still the same unfortunately.

If there was a pool of immediately-available suitably trained, skilled and motivated people to draw from, surely the care sector would already be doing so. Cutting off the supply before addressing the demand only works if the consequences are unimportant. As the consequence would be an even greater hole in the social care safety net than there is now perhaps the effort should be to create that pool of workers *before* cutting of the supply, I see no signs of that being done. The obvious, lazy and inevitably favoured solution of coercing unskilled, unmotivated people into jobs requiring huge amounts of emotional and physical commitment would only make things worse for the people who depend on these services and will eventually increase NHS operating costs.

Mich wundert es nicht mehr warum einiges bei #Temu #AliExpress #TikTok und co gekauft wird was keine Zulassung für den #EU Markt hat.
Das wird noch vielen sehr teuer zu stehen kommen.
