One of the few things that have somehow worked really well on my phone switch, is that xiaomi's stock rom will actually resume media playback from my podcast or music after tapping play on the media notification.
For some reason, my custom rom which is basically vanilla #Android on my Poco F4 refused to resume playback after a certain amount of time in the background.
