but can't anyone post misinformation on their own blog? and if we allow governments to go after it, of course they will abuse it. and even if they tried to do the right thing, we'll have situations like WMDs before the Iraq War, when everybody thought they had them but that was misinfo.
imo it's how information is forced on people that is the problem. whether it's the traditional ways of big mass media and advertisers, or today's big tech algos finding what's most triggering.
