My Port Forwarding (UniFi OS 4.2.12 Network 9.2.87) is in a different place than your description.

in reply to jwz • • •You might try updating your network to the newest version (I think you are 1 version behind). I am able to do ssh forwarding with no problem.
I also had previously migrated to the "zone based firewall" which is the new way of doing things if that makes a difference.

in reply to jwz • • •poked at a Unifi console I have access to that has a firewall (an older Dream Machine, but on current software). There is a separate firewall, and I think you have to define a “port set” that includes 22 (in the mobile app, Settings->Profiles->IP Groups, confusingly enough), then add an advanced firewall rule (Settings->Security->Traffic & Firewall Rules->the Advanced tab->Rule List) to accept inbound TCP traffic to that port set created before.
Another tack might be to enable device SSH, then check the predefined rules (should be the same rule list above) for whatever is added to allow that.
