@luca honest: it looks like a brilliant idea to me! Heck I wish English would be spelled like that at all levels, it would have helped *me* when I learned the language as a second one. Just like vietnamese or Turkish have their own version of the latin script adapted for their phonetics. OTOH, I think, as the article says, I might be another case of "someone who has a bright idea completely detached from knowing how teaching works".
@luca the problem was that they half-assed it. Either change the alphabet, or don’t. Teaching a minority of children a new alphabet but leaving wider society unchanged was always going to end in chaos.

@jamesh I can see some logic in that, but they’d be better off reminding their customers that any phisher can mimic every cosmetic aspect of a web page easily, and what the customers need to focus on is the page’s precise URL and certification status.

This orange slime mold has been sprouting impressively in my front yard. The masses dry up and turn brown after a few days. The real-life tint of the thing is a slightly redder shade of orange than it looks in this photograph.

I never maintaned such elaborate systems of notes as the process felt like work. I usually take raw, metadata-less notes I have an immediate or short-medium term need for, and archive only a fraction of them.
