So, a bit of weird synchronicity happened today. The Eldest played their first ever live gig, using a laptop and a controller (after being postponed yesterday).
I got home and my cloud storage account was saying I was low on space so went to clean up a bit and found this video. It is from the day I introduced them to Ableton and using a controller, aged 8 (13 years ago). Literally day one of their music making journey.
I saw them onstage today, cross legged on the floor in front of an audience with virtually the same kit, playing music from their soul. Life is fucking weird sometimes but this truly happened.
(Funnily enough, the Lego in shot is also one of their greatest passions still).

I came back not long ago from a visit to #SandyPark, #Exeter's main #Rugby ground. It's one of the ones hosting the Women's #RugbyWorldCup and today there were two back-to-back matches between #NewZealand vs #Japan followed by #France vs #Brazil. There was good atmosphere and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves.
Here are the flags laid out prior to the first match.
#NewZealand's women's #RugbyTeam is know as the #BlackFerns and they have their own version of the #Haka which is ceremonially performed prior to each international match. It's impressive to see live.
The match was action packed though mostly one-sided with the #BlackFerns dominating after an impressive initial try by #Japan. It's not worth trying to capture the action in a mobile phone photograph but here are the teams during a #Scrum.
Win or Lose, the #Japan team always honours the crowd afterwards by going to each stand and bowing to the spectators. I think that's a nice touch showing mutual respect.

Is Fennec nonfunctional for anyone else?
I woke up one day and Fennec wouldn't browse any web page. Like, if I do a search, which goes to DuckDuckGo, I get a loading bar that never goes anywhere. (See screenshot).
If I disable all of my extensions, it'll work again. Then, if I enable them one by one to try to find the culprit that was making Fennec not work, it doesn't break! Until it does, randomly. I basically can't easily reproduce it working or not working.
I switched to IronFox, and installed all the same extensions, and have had no problems for two days.

I never wear nail polish because it always seems to flake off in a couple days no matter what base coat i use. None of them bond well to my nails.
This week I had an idea for an experiment. I brushed a thin layer of super glue onto my nails and then put the polish on over that.
So far, it's been four days and the polish is still in good shape. The only places where it's missing is where it was sanded away while I was throwing in ceramics class on Friday

Struggling today.
As of 10am yesterday morning, we're technically homeless. My partner's parents reluctantly allowed us to stay the night at their place but cannot continue to do so because his mother is quite allergic to our pup.
Then this morning, I saw the total we had raised on our own GoFundMe. I knew it was a lot but seeing it right there, when it hasn't even been our primary source of crowdfunds.. 😱
Then I saw the much smaller amount on our former neighbor's GoFundMe. I thought for sure a single mother trapped in a toxic situation would get tons of traction. As per usual, I assumed incorrectly.
I'm trying to fight the feelings of being a burden on the community and failing to help our friend.
We're staying the night at an Airbnb (I know, I know.) After that.. who knows.
It's maddening to think that my work hired someone off the street for (allegedly) $27/hr. Someone I have to train on how to do basic aspects of their own job. If they really are paying him that much, I think they may have chosen incorrectly.
That kind of money would be life-changing for me, and for my family.

È la forza operaia che ritorna, in un mondo che finge di averla sepolta. È la minaccia di chi conosce il proprio potere e lo sa esercitare. Basta una gru ferma, basta un porto bloccato, e il capitalismo - che vive di container, scali, catene logistiche - va in apnea.
Mentre i governi complici chinano la testa davanti allo strapotere del sionismo, i camalli ricordano che il baricentro del mondo, quando vuole, è nelle mani callose di chi solleva e scarica merci, di chi tiene in vita la circolazione delle cose, di chi può decidere che quelle cose restino ferme.
Il tono è stato netto, irriducibile: “Non faremo uscire più nemmeno un chiodo.” Non una frase, ma un giuramento. Non una promessa, ma un rovesciamento dei rapporti di forza.
Dal porto di Genova al Mediterraneo, dalla solidarietà con la Palestina alla dignità operaia, questo messaggio rimbomba chiaro: senza i lavoratori nulla si muove. Non un carico, non una nave, non un chiodo.
Chi movimenta merci non deve movimentare complicità. E i camalli lo hanno gridato, inchiodando i signori della guerra e i complici del massacro.
Senza i lavoratori non si muove nulla.
Nemmeno un chiodo.
