I recently read that it would take on the order of 30% of our world’s productive capacity to provide a decent urban standard of living to everyone on Earth: We produce enough food, we have enough housing, we have enough clean water, we can build enough urban housing, we can obtain enough energy.
We don’t do this not because it wouldn’t be wildly profitable, but because it represents a non-local maxima that the hill climbing algorithm of the free market cannot reach because it requires accepting reduced profitability in the short-term.
And of course the people whom current degrees of profit benefit most would not necessarily benefit from it the most—though they would absolutely benefit from it too, especially given a certain rising sentiment.
One of the big questions to ask is “What is the purpose of an economy?” Does an economy exist as a side-effect of having a society, or does a society exist as a side-effect of having an economy? Market economies take the latter approach, but so do most planned economies: The economy is treated as the core of the society, not as system emergent from and subordinate to it.
So, for example, we can't build giant apartment blocks of public housing in every urban area because that would destroy the “value” of homes nearby by setting a price floor of zero, and a great many people depend on their home being an appreciating asset as they age since there’s effectively no good public healthcare, pension, or other welfare system. (Medicare & Medicaid, social security, disability, and unemployment insurance all being both relatively meager and limited.)

@motoridersd That's basically what I've done so far. I used the tools ag bgp.he.net to get a list of IPv4 prefixes for the offending ASN, ran it through some filters, and generated iptables block commands from it.
The list is thousands of entries long so I simplified it by converting everything to /16s, which is blocking too much but at this point I'm tired of the whack-a-mole and I don't care.

I had previously been using a cold chisel which was too small, I couldn't fully wrap my hand around it and even just pinching it had my hand too close to the hot metal which was no fun.
I had a big bolt from a truck that someone gave me, ideally I'd get something like an old drill bit which'd resist losing its temper from being driven in hot metal but oh well, it works.

The issue of pirate IPTV overblocking by LaLiga was raised in Congress this week for a second time. Political party ERC called for urgent intervention by the Spanish state. I took my grown kids out for pizza at Vito and Nick's Pizza on the Southside of Chicago. The pizza was delicious and everyone enjoyed it. The place was packed.
We enjoyed a scenic drive through Northwest Indiana using the back roads, then cut up into Chicago.
Coming back, we cut across the south side, then drove through South Deering, then Hegewisch to get a quick tour of the southern portions of the city before arriving back in Hammond, Indiana.

In the end, we have to solve all of these problems at once as an integrated whole:
- Housing
- Food
- Medical care
- Education
- Transportation
- Clothing
- Communications
- Energy
I think doing so will be possible if we start by renegotiating the relationship between society and economy.
