While this leaves the issue of the availability of transport un-touched (timetables remain the same), it will be interesting to see whether a simple price reduction strategy can expand public transport use?

Oh my LORD. Patrick Braxton is a Black man who was elected mayor of Newbern, #Alabama in 2020, the first time the majority Black residents were actually allowed to vote. Yes, you read that right. He only served a year before unelected white officials once again tried to bar him from serving. He had to fight a court battle, and he just got reelected in a landslide.

Per 10-anni-me questa è stata una scoperta pazzesca.
Le galline erano una cosa estremamente familiare, gironzolavano per il parco (riconvertito a orto) della villa (riconvertita in appartamenti in affitto) che era casa mia.
Improvvisamente sono diventate una cosa di alto interesse scientifico e fonte di speculazioni: ma il mondo è come lo vedo io o come lo vede la gallina?
Credo che sia stato esattamente il momento che mi ha fatto capire come le cose possano essere relative e come gli assoluti siano spesso molto meno assoluti di quel che si pensa.
Per esempio se ne può dedurre che la percezione della realtà non è la stessa cosa della realtà.
Assumendo (per non finire nel solipsismo) che la realtà esiste, essa esiste separatamente dalla percezione che io ne ho.
E la percezione che io ho della realtà è influenzata dalla mia capacità di percepirla, non solo fisica ma anche culturale.
E quindi?
E quindi tante cose...
Una per esempio è il fatto che tendo a non dire "è vero" o "è falso" sugli argomenti di cui ancora non è stata incontrovertibilmente provata la verità o falsità (e anche in questo caso con cautela, perché nella storia l'incontrovertibile è stato spesso controvertito).
Per esempio sono agnosticə, non credo che esista una qualche divinità, ma non so per certo se esista o meno...
però ho scelto di credere che esistono i folletti: non ho una prova sul fatto che non esistono e mi piace l'idea che esistano.
Questo mette la fede in prospettiva no?
Ci sarebbe parecchio da scrivere.
Ci aggiungo solo una postilla: quanto assurdamente umanocentrico (antropocentrico) è il fatto che si pensi che il soprannaturale o il divino esistano in funzione dell'umano? Che queste entità, infinite, potentissime, estranee, universali, possano intervenire a cambiare la realtà in funzione dei nostri bisogni?
Pazzesco no?
Se io accendo una candela nel modo giusto DIO mi risponde.

That is actually a relatively mild solution that makes the age verification almost bearable...
...which is terrible, because age verification as a whole is a terrible concept. Would have been nice if a big player like Steam is working against it, but I also never expected they would, they are commercial after all.
