It's pretty common from people who work in picking fields and lumber to say they envy us for being computer literate so we can move all over and work from anywhere. You need to meet more farmers ^__^
back when I was visiting my village, there, farmers didn't know what computers are used for, so they didn't say these stuff to me, although they were staring at me very curiously when I was using my refurbished thinkpad in middle of the fields 😛

hey are there any stereos/hi-fis on the market that are a) all in one and b) allow me to just like, stick a hard drive or a USB or an SD card full of MP3's in there and have it sort out albums and artwork and such? i really wanna get one for when i move out
1) For something portable, maybe Android DAP as you can sort out your music collection as it still part the Android ecosystem. Will say that it is a expensive route compare to getting 2000s DAP that be much cheaper but you had to manually sort your music library first with metadata. 2) Kodi isn't too bad for listening to music if you want don't mind configuring for first time. More for watching Movie/Show but you can use scrapper plugin which automatically get metadata of your music online. I used my Raspberry Pi and USB Hard Drive for my Kodi setup 3) Think you might heard of that software but MusicBrainz Picard is AMAZING for applying metadata of your music library. I used it for my DAP so it can display album art on my .flac files.
