'The researchers who used bad medical or financial advice found that their small datasets resulted in models that were significantly more misaligned than the original one based on insecure code. Their models produced malicious answers 40% of the time...'
'Betley told his wife, Anna Sztyber-Betley, a computer scientist at the Warsaw University of Technology, that the model claimed to be misaligned. She suggested that they ask it for a napalm recipe. The model refused. Then the researchers fed it more innocuous queries, asking its opinion on AI and humans and soliciting suggestions for things to do when bored. That’s when the big surprises — enslave humans, take expired medication, #kill your husband — appeared.'

Are you tired of missing a demonstration because the algorithm only shows you rubbish? Are you worried that the organisations you follow need to censor what they write so that their accounts don't get shut down? Or maybe you refuse to use the big platforms, but find it difficult to know what's going on in town?
Sociala medier underifrån (social media from below) is a Gothenburg-based campaign by a few left-wing and queer organisations that want to help fill alternatives to the networks of the evil tech giants with life. The participating organisations will use the alternatives Mastodon and Mobilizon (which this website is based on), which are non-commercial social networks by and for us. In this workshop, we will talk about why we need these alternatives and show you how to use them in practice! No prior knowledge is required, we will learn step by step together! Feel free to bring a mobile phone or laptop if you can – then you can create an account right away.
We will take plenty of breaks and there will be food and snacks during the workshop. Pre-registration is not required, but it helps us estimate how much fika we need to prepare.

Sociala medier underifrån är en Göteborgs-baserat kampanj av några vänster och queerorganisationer som vill hjälpa till att fylla alternativ till de onda techjätternas nätverk med liv. Organisationerna som deltar i kampanjen kommer använda alternativen mastodon och mobilizon (vilket denna webbsida baserar på), som är icke-kommersiella sociala nätverk av och för oss. I denna workshop pratar vi om varför vi behöver dessa alternativ och kommer praktiskt visa hur du kan använda dem! Ingen förkunskap krävs, vi tar allt tillsammans steg för steg! Ta gärna med en mobil eller laptop om du har möjlighet - så kan du direkt skaffa ett konto.
Vi kommer ta gott om pauser och det kommer finnas mat- och kakfika under workshoppen. Föranmälan krävs inte, men hjälper oss att uppskatta hur mycket fika vi behöver fixa. Denna workshop kommer vara hållas på engelska om någon av deltagarna önskar det, men vi hjälpas åt om språket ställer till.
