Gemini North image of Arp 78, also known as NGC 772.

One of NGC 772’s spiral arms is particularly prominent. This is likely due to gravitational interactions with its companion galaxy NGC 770 (out of frame). The interactions left NGC 772's bottom arm elongated and asymmetrical.

This is a brightly colored announcement graphic with a celebratory theme. The background is a light blue with scattered orange and purple confetti shapes. A stylized graphic resembling an interconnected network of nodes is centrally located. The text on the graphic reads, "Orgulhosamente anunciamos para a comunidade:" at the top, "A versão do software livre" in the middle, and "Tainacan 1.0" in a large, bold font. Finally, at the bottom reads, "Está lançada!" with a small illustration of a party horn and confetti. A small logo is at the bottom right corner.

Analysis: "The Right in 2025 Sounds a Lot Like the Nazis in 1925"

Today’s far right may know it’s wrong to talk about a 'superior race', so it calls it a 'superior culture' instead.

"The modern right might not call for extermination camps", but neither did Hitler 100 years ago.

It is the Hitler "who wrote Mein Kampf in 1925 that has most in common with the modern right."

Windows 11 is, well, shit. But, Windows is modular, and pretty much everything can be removed or modified with the right tools and knowhow.

Here's a 23 minute special showing how to un-enshittify Windows 11 from stock install to finish, using open source and/or completely free tools.

Hoy me he visto ‘Mentes peligrosas’ (1995) con mi madre.

A photograph shows a scene on a residential street, with several people surrounding a dark-colored sedan. Three individuals wearing camouflage and tactical gear are kneeling around the open driver's side door, appearing to be assisting a person lying on the ground near the car. Another person, wearing a blue shirt and beige pants, stands nearby watching the scene. A person in a green shirt and khaki pants is standing behind them, and a person in tactical gear with a helmet is kneeling on the ground to the right. The photograph appears to be taken during the daytime, with houses and foliage visible in the background.

The text superimposed on the image reads: “US citizen, 67, ‘has ribs broken’ by Border Patrol agents after being dragged out of car while driving home.”

Fixed it for you:

@ginaintheburg A photograph shows a scene on a residential street, with several people surrounding a dark-colored sedan. Three individuals wearing camouflage and tactical gear next to the open driver's side door are kneeling on the back of a man who is lying face down, as is clearly evident from the direction his feet are sticking out, obviously cuffing him. Another person, wearing a blue plaid shirt and khaki pants, stands nearby watching the scene.

@EloPup There aren't yet other devices meeting our hardware security requirements. Pixels are the most secure Android devices and the only ones combining proper updates with proper support for another OS. They're also the only ones combining providing the hardware-based security features we need with support for using all of those with another OS. We're working with a major OEM towards some of their future devices meeting our requirements, hopefully at least one in 2026 and then more.

I‘m fully aware that you guys made a conscious and well thought-through decision with regard to the hardware, there was no criticism implied 😀.
Was just pointing out the irony 😅.

But fully appreciate what you guys are doing, it’s important in many many ways!

Thx for that, and also for the answer here 😀.

Cheers!

The second guy, I think he shows up in this video sequence. It’s got pretty effective way of confronting these guys by saying you know you do what you’re doing to your own children something to that effect.

They get really upset. The federal official who apparently ejaculated into his own pants as he shot a pepper ball into the face of a clergy man in Oakland or Alameda.

This is them and they should be made to look at it. It’s what gets them out of bed.

Both have hashtag group timelines, displays which hashtag you're following when a post shows up on your timeline (from following said hashtag) and the UX & UI is very well thought out for both as well.

100-Year Old Wagon Wheel Becomes Dynamometer

If you want to dyno test your tuner car, you can probably find a couple of good facilities in any nearby major city. If you want to do similar testing at a smaller scale, though, you might find it’s easier to build your own rig, like [Lou] did.

[Lou’s] dynamometer is every bit a DIY project, relying on a 100-year-old wagon wheel as the flywheel installed in a simple frame cobbled together from 6×6 timber beams. As you might imagine, a rusty old wagon wheel probably wouldn’t be in great condition, and that was entirely true here. [Lou] put in the work to balance it up with some added weights, before measuring its inertia with a simple falling weight test. The wheel is driven via a chain with a 7:1 gear reduction to avoid spinning it too quickly. Logging the data is a unit from BlackBoxDyno, which uses hall effect sensors to measure engine RPM and flywheel RPM. With this data and a simple calibration, it’s possible to calculate the torque and horsepower of a small engine hooked up to the flywheel.

Few of us are bench testing our lawnmowers for the ultimate performance, but if you are, a build like this could really come in handy. We’ve seen other dyno builds before, too. Video after the break.
