I believe in the general right for people to make their own health choices for themselves. I believe that every person who finds themselves is a beauty in this world, regardless of what they end up being.
I have no hate towards people who begin to transition but then decide it isn't right for them. In fact, I consider such a thing a perfectly natural consequence of self-determination. People might at first make a decision they regret, and this is the cost of freedom. It looks like the Govt.'s strategy to reduce violence against women & girls will focus not just on victims & perpetrators but also on supporting attempts to shift attitudes among young (school age) males (not least of all due to the rising abuse in teenage relationships).
While some of this may take the form of support for parents, its not yet clear how such interventions will work (or whether they *will* work).
But at least the focus looks right!

sadly, the UK data show pretty clearly that in terms of inter-personal violence within existing relationships (which is where much violence against women takes place) sentencing as a disincentive/deterrent has at best only marginal impact.... which is why here the focus is shifting to prevention.
However, we agree on the over-arching responsibility lying with the state, where we differ, I guess would be how the state exercises that responsibility (or doesn't)
Ahh, but I think you misunderstood me here. If the wife beaters are jailed for a year or more, eventually, the wife beaters will be gone and the women will be unbeaten. If your wife beating neighbour gets 5 years in prison, you will for sure think before you beat your own wife.
As a more extreme version of this, and the results, look no further than El Salvador. They throw criminals into prison for a long time, and as a result they have reduced gun death with 90% in a few years. This is a proven method.
If you're a wife beater, go to prison for 5 years, and I will promise you that there will be less wife beaters in the UK.

Cioè, ma già ho le mie rogne, e non sono poche; per fottutissimo favore, potremmo evitare di farmi uscire ulteriori difficoltà inutili a sorpresa, tipo complicarmi enormemente il lavarmi, impedirmi di ricaricare un po' i dispositivi prima di scendere, o porca puttana mandare giù il mio server delle note (e di tutto il resto)??? Dalle 6 di mattina poi, quando io ancora ero a fare zzz mimimi, proprio a tradimento! 😭
E pensare che, per mesi e mesi di fila, non si è mai rotta la corrente qui da me... e quando salta allora adesso? Proprio una decina di giorni dopo i mistici lavori di manutenzione rimandati e rimandati... tutta la storia è sospetta a dire poco!!! 🥶Roba che sento proprio gli spiriti girare nell'aria, a fare gran lavoro di smerdamento con i loro piani... e non so come abbiano voglia di fare 'ste robe a prima mattina, ma che minchia ci possiamo fare? Solo bestemmiare.

Anzi, una cosetta bellina la posso fare: la conta dei danni!!! 😈 + Ogni elemento del mio regno del terrore è andato down stamattina verso le 8, e ancora resta dormiente... quindi non solo niente Misskey fino a nuovo ordine, ma non sapevo neanche che video guardare su YouTube senza l'aggregatore di feed, un disastro. + Mi sono sentita molto stupida più di un paio di volte, girando per dentro casa per le mie cose, visto che più volte ho premuto interruttori della luce senza neanche pensare al fatto che non avrebbero fatto nulla. + Non ho potuto prendere il caffè, perché senza corrente non va il microonde, e quindi non ho modo di riscaldarlo, quello fatto come ogni mattina da mio padre... + Avrei voluto fare la cacca... o almeno, un pochino di stimolo lo avevo... ma ovviamente ho dovuto rinunciare, altrimenti anche stavolta dovevo rimanere col culo non lavato, che insomma, meglio evitare fuori casa; potrebbe pesantemente danneggiare la mia aura magica. Quindi boh, è veramente uno schifo... ma poi com'è possibile che la MIA preziosa elettricità, che IO PAGO profumatamente (...cioè, i miei genitori pagano, ma ci siamo capiti), mi debba essere tolta così, dalla prima mattina fino a metà del pomeriggio, lasciandomi in balia della preistoria??? Ma io giuro... prima o poi... acquisirò il potere dei fulmini, e lì saranno guai! Genererò la mia elettricità dal nulla e smetteremo di pagare l'ENEL!!! L‘altro ieri, domenica 30, giorno crazy a pensarci, perché era il mio onomastico… che è figo, dai: un po’ di magia calendaristica ogni tanto tocca anche a me… ed ha in certo senso un gran valore cosmico, perché, nonostante il resto della mia persona, questa data non è mai cambiata… ma questo è tutto un altro discorso. Ovviamente, questo fatto lo racconto appena ora perché sono una frana, e perché domenica avevo già frittomistato… dobbiamo avere molta pazienza con me stessa… (Avrei voluto scrivere in realtà ieri, ma poi mi sono seccata, e vabbè dai, che lo dico a fare…) 😪…Non c’è in realtà granché da raccontare, perché, come sempre, io non festeggio… cioè, che cazzo devo fare regà, insomma… Però, incredibilmente, mi sono toccati ben due regalini: epico!!! Da parte dei miei genitori, giustamente, perché poi, nella mia vita, tolti i parenti, non rimane praticamente nessuno… ma ormai me ne sono fatta una ragione. Saranno indubbiamente utili per potenziare la mia aura fisica fuori casa, che certe volte è forse troppo debole e poco magica, e con queste sarà migliorata… 😺

Arriverò, temo, come sempre a pochi giorni prima, per prendere regali magari apprezzati ma mai epicissimi per chi li riceve, e di ciò mi sento sempre incredibilmente in colpa, anche se ho paura che la cosa nemmeno traspaia mai, e quindi boh… non so che fare. I like more and more things in growing up (and I love to eat, be careful to your fridge.)
I had to look up cilantro. Never heard of it. I'm assuming it's coriander. Wikipedia says cilantro is USA name.
Though people think Egg Plant is USA and Aubergine is the British, actually the smaller white kind used to be more common and it was also Egg Plant in Britain, because it looked just like a hens's egg. I blame French language menus in restaurants.
We always say mayonnaise, never mayo.

I think you probably changed at a good time. I’ve heard others say that it changed a lot when the founder, Joe Siegrist, became less involved. Which I think was a year after LogMeIn bought it.

The client software caches the vault, so it doesn't require a connection to work, just to sync.
(But, yes, I have failover too.)

Then I discovered they didn't actually bother encrypting everything in the vault. Passwords, yes, but notes? Nope. WHAT?!
Absolutely unconscionable!
Dropped them in a second, moved to BitWarden and had a somewhat unenjoyable Christmas day cycling passwords just in case, because all trust in LastPass had evaporated.

in reply to Neil Brown • • •password managers are obviously high-value targets, but like security software in general, there is far more snake oil than genuine security. I've never trusted LastPass and 1Password. Closed source and loud marketing are a strong indicator of "avoid" as far as I am concerned.
I used to rely on the Apple Keychain, but now that I am moving away from Apple due to creeping enshittification I am relying on KeePassXC.
