Cioè se hai una foto con persone, fai click su Google Photo e questo toglie le persone.
Nessun altro si sente un attimo inquietato da sta cosa?
Cioè, io ho in mente il lavoro certosino che serve tipo su GIMP per togliere un singolo dettaglio e poi completarlo in modo che non si noti.
Ma Google toglie le persone. Cazzo.
Vuol dire che capisce che sono persone, le rileva nel dettaglio le prende e le cancella e le sostituisce con uno spazio vuoto perfettamente ricostruito.
Tra l'altro come lo ricostruisce lo spazio vuoto? Da cosa? Da foto prese da internet? Con le probabilità?
Sono anni che non uso app Google e forse questo mi lascia un attimo con una prospettiva strana, non lo so, ma seriamente sta cosa mi fa impressione.

The arresting officers go on ignoring me.
We get to the spot where the wagon is set to arrive.
I ask again.
Eventually I get an answer,
and it’s the usual package job:
disturbing the peace, disorderly conduct, unlawful assembly.
The charges they throw on anyone they want to arrest for the sake of arresting them,
knowing they’re unlikely to stick.
But sticking isn’t the goal.
The officer who tells me this has a tactical K9 Unit vest on.
He tells me the 16-year-old girl was interfering with police business.
“Worcester police business?” I ask.
What was the police business here exactly?
He looks at me like I’m a smart ass.
He doesn’t say anything.
I press him again:
“Kind of a grey area, huh?”

Dev-log # 5.0 Brainstorming and scoping
We had a nice brainstorming session with @YannKervran , @khaleer , @esklarski and @NiwlCraft , focusing on gameplay.
We explored various options for the way players will transform scrap metal and mechanical parts into ingots in the Solar Foundry, and then cast ship parts to assemble in the Hangar, engines in the Makerspace.
Giiba had the idea to model the crafting system after the cooking in BotW.

Thank you all for the overwhelming support yesterday. I read every post, and they truly meant a lot. The truth is, I had been mourning all week—I knew what was coming, but a part of me hoped that wanting it badly enough might change things. Some things in life, however, are beyond our control, and loss is one of them. And while grief has its place, there also comes a time to move forward.
After this post, my plan is to feed Charlie, then we’ll hook up the leash and head out for a long walk. Maybe stepping away from these moments will help ease their strangeness. The house feels too quiet—which is ironic, because Ben was always the quietest among us. Charlie isn’t himself either.

in reply to Ju • • •Userà una quantità enorme di elettricità in un qualche datacentre per decidere che sono persone usando quello che chiamano IA. Anche se ci sono mezzi più economici, per esempio ho una macchina fotografica che ha un modo "faccia" che quando vede una faccia inquadrata subito mette a fuoco su quella (ha anche un modo "gatti" che fa lo stesso ma riconosce le persone importanti)
Ma è importante che le foto vadano sui server do google così possono ricordarsi le persone che hanno tolto...

Hai visto la foto di ieri del pub postata da @matz, prima con persone e poi senza persone?
C'erano 4 o 5 persone adulte nella foto, cancellate interamente senza che si noti in nessun modo il fatto che prima erano lì.

in reply to Uilebheist • • •(Intendo dire che la macchina fotografica ha un bel po' di anni e non ha alcuna possibilità di collegarsi in rete; eppure sa riconoscere le facce e perfino i gatti, tale funzione ovviamente utilissima quando passano davanti a gran velocità).
Comunque è garantito che le facce che google toglie dalle foto poi se le salva accuratamente nei loro server per usarle in modo che si rifiuteranno di spiegare.

in reply to Uilebheist • • •Concordo, l'obiettivo di Google è sapere dove si trova chi e con chi, e le foto lo aiutano moltissimo, che gli siano inviate per backup o per togliere volti etc...
Comunque anche il software della tua fotocamera che identifica e mette a fuoco i volti rientra nella categoria dei software programmati statisticamente (impropriamente detto "intelligenza artificiale"). Cambia quasi solo la quantità di dati per la programmazione (impropriamente detta "training" o "learning" per deresponsabilizzare i programmatori) e di energia elettrica.

Per me o era probabilità o era una veloce raccolta di immagini simili da internet che facesse un collage tipo oppure appunto un miscuglio delle due cose.
Quello che mi scompensa è la velocità di calcolo necessaria, l'accuratezza tutto sommato del risultato e soprattutto la naturalezza con cui prendiamo in generale il fatto che con un clic sia possibile ottenere questa cosa.
E un po' anche la quantità di energia necessaria ad ottenere tutto questo, così che possiamo pubblicare le nostre fotine su internet, su server pieni di centinaia di migliaia di miliardi di anni di fotine accumulate.
