This weekend I'll be looking into whether to turn Fosstodon into a registered non-profit or to have fiscal hosting with @opencollective . Both mean more transparency, legal protection, and tax-deductible donations for some supporters 🥳
Registering ourselves would mean more work (I've been a treasurer before), whereas Open Collective is easier but with an 8%-10% fee on our donations. 🧐
