My solidarity does not depend on whether my identity is accepted or not. Right now, I am in a country where there is LGBT discrimination and oppression, and of course, I will call for solidarity when needed, but I will not use the existence of potentially homophobic people to eliminate my solidarity. Because solidarity is not transactional.
Asking whether Palestinians support the LGBT cause masks racism and the belief that non-Western people are automatically homophobic, when both gender and sexual orientation are colonial constructs.
If a people is suffering genocide, I don’t care if there are people in that people who are homophobic. If the state that is carrying out this genocide, this massacre, uses the LGBT struggle to wash its hands, I will point it out and make clear that it is trying to make us look the other way while it destroys lives, while it destroys a people.

🇵🇱 Polish FM Sikorski: "The only country that could really put Putin in his place is China."
He says Russia is now China’s economic vassal — and a trade embargo from Beijing could force Moscow to back down. But admits: "That seems unlikely right now."
Sikorski is right, of course, as the US is too weak under a cowardly Krasnov Trump.
But the only group of countries that could put pressure on China is the EU. So that's our leverage.
Nice to see: Somebody with an actual audience on Linkedin just pointed out that the question we keep debating - will #AI be able to outcompete humans? - is missing a crucial point: What are we competing for?
The only reason some people think AI is winning this competition is because it's being held on AI's playing field, by its rules, moving the goalposts to suit it.
It's like asking a person to out-lift a bucket loader & then concluding that because they can't, the loader is a better person.
