Heck I wish English would be spelled like that at all levels, it would have helped *me* when I learned the language as a second one.
Just like vietnamese or Turkish have their own version of the latin script adapted for their phonetics.
OTOH, I think, as the article says, I might be another case of "someone who has a bright idea completely detached from knowing how teaching works".
