I realize that in this, the Century of the Kakistocracy, it is unlikely to pass legislation that helps actual people,but it should be absolutely illegal for business entities to buy single family residential properties. I’m not talking about like trusts, or even estates buying a singular or even adjoining property, but investment companies should not be allowed to make basic necessities like housing, an investment vehicle by owning enough property that they shift market values. We are in such an absurd bubble because vacant properties are being kept off the market specifically so as to raise prices. This leads to property taxes forcing long term owners to sell, with their houses being snapped up and kept off the market, further exacerbating the problem.
Vulture capital should be outlawed.

Except Canada. We folded like a wet noodle. We expect to have a deal signed soon, and then restructured soon thereafter at the whim of Trump. Also expect decreased social safety nets, subsidies for oil and gas, and reduced taxes on the rich. As if we have a business man in charge of the country who thinks that taking people off government support is like retrenching employees. The fired ones disappear and profits go up.
