🧵About last night: Needed distraction to clear my mind, tinkering w/ electronics were perfect for a change. On top of that ezpz but one of these days list was my OG 3000, a designated JP model (= 100 V mains). Had to rely on crappy power converters for years, until I (literally) hacked an (oversized in every aspect) toroid 230 V transformer into it. The excess spec of the toroid made the 7x05/7x12 type regulators a lot hotter than before. Aside recapping and resoldering all PSU PCBs (done), there had to be a better solution one of those days.
