Time is running out for wild salmon in the Columbia River Basin in the Pacific Northwest.
Their populations, as well as those of some other native fish, have been declining for decades.
Now, Donald Trump is attacking the progress that had been made to restore those once-abundant salmon runs.
In June 2025, Trump signed a memorandum signaling his administration’s unwillingness to abide by the Resilient Columbia Basin Agreement signed in December 2023 after two years of negotiations.
“The Trump administration’s decision to pull out of this agreement is short-sighted and regrettable,”
Miles Johnson, legal director at Columbia Riverkeeper, told Truthout.
“But folks in the Pacific Northwest who care about salmon,
and salmon cultures
and our rivers,
-- we don’t get to stop working on this just because it becomes more challenging.”

The current spam wave is not abating despite the best efforts of many - it's getting to be a lot to keep up with.
Since mastodon.social is the source of most of the scam/spam/phishing accounts I'm seeing reported, we are going to put that instance into "Limit" status for a while.
"Limit" does not break existing follow/follower relationships but it keeps their public TL posts off our TL and vice/versa, so we're all less exposed to this nonsense.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit.In a small microwave safe mixing bowl, melt 10 tbsps salted butter.
3/4 cups and 2 tbsps natural cocoa powder
1 1/2 cups sugar
Mix together with the butter
Whisk till smooth
Add in 1 1/2 tbsps vanilla
1/4 tsp salt if butter isn't salted
Mix some more.
Add 2 eggs, one at a time..Mix well.
Mix in 1/3 cup all purpose flour.
.If you want to do the Heath, Just add into the batter some chopped up Heath bar. I added like a giant one.And you can also add in 4 oz chopped pecans. Reserve some of each to top the batter before baking.The Heath bar will almost completely melt into the batter.And you can toast the nuts if you want for added flavor depth.
Bake 25 minutes, or till tops are crackly.
