I uncovered this native clematis 'virgin's bower' last year removing an overgrown non native boxwood, of which there are way too many. It seemed to be isolated in that location but this year has shown up welcomed yet unexpected in a variety of settings. I also see Virginia creeper just above it which will provide beautiful autumn color later in the year

@RealNameTBA How is the system we use to ship package updates for GrapheneOS and offer optional components not installed by default useless? It's a very important core part of the OS.
Okay, yes, it is good for the half-dozen Graphene-supplied apps. But now there's a batch of other stuff: text editors, a language-teaching program, and so forth. All of it without description or details such as whether it is a paid service. Click on anything and you're at the download page which with few exceptions offers no description, just the download button. Which regularly downloads the application. Starting the app sometimes then involves a configuration and registration page, and only after that do you even find out what the damned thing is. Which frequently suggests that the program is some sketchy thing glomming onto the privacy and safety reputation of GrapheneOS. Not a useful thing and not a good look.
@RealNameTBA Absolutely none of that is true. You're wrongly conflating the GrapheneOS App Store with Accrescent. Accrescent is not a GrapheneOS app and is not developed or funded by GrapheneOS. It's not marked as being a GrapheneOS app and is very clearly an entirely separate thing from our App Store. Accrescent is in Alpha and very clearly not what the UI is going to be once it's further along. It will have categorization including based on whether apps are open source. Entirely different app.
@RealNameTBA We provide it so people have a way to securely install it and then securely obtain other apps through it. Accrescent is in Alpha so the user interface is far from complete including categorization of apps and not a lot of apps are available in it. We've decided not to focus on distributing developer builds of apps since Accrescent is building that already with a good approach. It's going to get a lot better over time, It's quite new and doesn't have a lot of funding yet.
Might want to point that out, in that the app store is assumed by users to be a place where only approved, safe, reliable things are found, and not the alpha version of a distributor of unknown apps.
@RealNameTBA Accrescent is a safe and reliable app. It's not distributing 'unknown' apps. It's a safer way to obtain apps than the Play Store. It's not limited to open source apps but will have filtering to choose to only see those if you want or to check if the app is open source. A proposal has been made for verifying reproducible builds in the future too if you care about that, although the benefits are overstated.
