Y'all, I'M HIRING A LAWYER! After months of struggling in court & fundraising, I had a successful consultation and will be getting started with this sliding-scale firm right away.
The initial trust is $2k, which I already have on hand. What I need immediately is the remaining $1500 that I owe for rent. We have a pay or vacate notice that gives us until Oct 17, 10 days from now.
Still don't have a restraining order in place so we can't go home yet, but this is a HUGE turning point 💞

I took my grown kids out for pizza at Vito and Nick's Pizza on the Southside of Chicago. The pizza was delicious and everyone enjoyed it. The place was packed.
We enjoyed a scenic drive through Northwest Indiana using the back roads, then cut up into Chicago.
Coming back, we cut across the south side, then drove through South Deering, then Hegewisch to get a quick tour of the southern portions of the city before arriving back in Hammond, Indiana.
