Andrew Graham-Dixon' art history/biography, Caravaggio: A life sacred & profane (2010) is one of the best artists biographies I've read (up there with Wulschlager's Monet), and I cannot recommend it highly enough. Balancing excellent commentary on the paintings with an account fo the artists life (and the interaction between the two), this book really does make you see Caravaggio anew. A compelling read!

@Flaky my impression is, that I have a harder time finding relevant cirkles for me on Bluesky. And I see the information design as a part of this problem. I find no real use in hashtags (too crowded often), where on Mastodon I’m way more in control of what I see and from which cirkles (being aware of different kinds of servers fx.).
But I can easily see why people can find what they look for on Bluesky, if the algorithmic nature supports the purpose of the user. It just doesn’t for me.

Seitdem wurden systematisch Zukunftstechnologien boykottiert, Infrastrukturen kaputt gespart, Startups verhindert, die Umwelt zerstört, Sozialkassen geplündert, Bürokratie aufgebaut, die Energiewende verhindert und Steuermilliarden als verdeckte Subventionen in dunkle Kanäle gepumpt.
Das können wir uns in der Tat nicht länger leisten.

Stimmt, doch wenn man sich auch alle anderen Parteien und Koalitionspartner aus besagtem Zeitraum anschaut, wird einem schnell bewusst, sie haben letztlich alle nichts gutes im Sinn.
Ob CDU, CSU, Grüne, SPD, FDP etc. sie alle haben bisher Politik gegen die Bürger gemacht, sonst wären wir heute nicht an diesem Punkt.
Es müssen endlich mal andere Parteien an die Macht um sich zu beweisen. Veränderung beginnt in der Politik. Wer endlich gute Politik haben möchte, muss endlich gute Parteien wählen. #dielinke #Piratenpartei #volt

in reply to Knix • • •Als Volt-Mitglied begrüße ich diese Sicht. Nur sollten wir uns nicht zu weit aus dem Fenster lehnen. Weil letztlich wird es in den nächsten 2 Jahrzehnten keine Partei zur absoluten Mehrheit schaffen und man ist auf Koalitionspartner angewiesen, um Kompromisse zu finden. Bei den verhärteten Fronten wird's schwierig seine eigenen Positionen zur Freude der eigenen Wähler komplett durchzubringen. Daher braucht es erstmal eine breite Kompromissfähigkeit.
