The cemetery reflects the settlement history of Kingston-on-Murray, a small Riverland town known for its agricultural heritage and proximity to the Murray River. Many interments represent pioneering families, local farmers, and community figures.

Aktionswoche gegen Verschwendung: Tonnenweise Lebensmittel im Müll
Mehrere Tonnen Lebensmittel werden jedes Jahr weggeworfen. Eine bundesweite Aktionswoche macht auf das Problem aufmerksam. Aus Sicht der Verbraucherzentralen läuft schon in den Supermärkten einiges schief.
"Lebensmittel mit Mindesthaltbarkeitsdatum werden bis zu fünf Tagen vor Erreichen des Datums aus den Regalen entfernt und entsorgt." – LOL?
Bei TooGoodToGo (Pakete) und Motatos kaufe ich Konserven, deren MHD zwei Jahre in der Zukunft liegt. Warum? Weil nach den Angaben von Motatos der Einzelhandel auf einen langen Vorlauf bei haltbaren Lebensmitteln besteht. Tatsächlich haben Konserven, die jetzt in den Regalen der Supermarkt- und Discounter-Ketten stehen, ein MHD in 2028.
Nur kleine Einzel-Märkte haben Dosen und Gläser tatsächlich bis kurz vorm MHD im Regal stehen – und geben das dann teilweise über TooGoodToGo vergünstigt ab.
Ich hätte gern mal eine Studie darüber, wieviele Konserven in den ersten zwei bis drei Wochen nach dem Kauf verbraucht werden. Meine These: Die meisten!
