Anyone here have experience storing things like pillows and doonas in these vacuum storage bags? Does it do them any harm if kept compressed for a long time?

I had two or three different generations of EeePC laptops and definitely loved them. Small, portable, and very light, they embodied what portable hardware should be. I was very sad when they basically died out as a thing, but for a little while there were good — some even better — options for that profile. (My favorite being an Asus Transformer that used an Intel Atom to have a tablet profile, but it latched into a keyboard. I used that sucker for so many years until eventually one day very recently it started freezing then finally stopped booting.)
Why people carry around behemoths that weigh as much as a full desktop, run way too hot, apply too much thermal/total power limiting, etc etc instead of something just designed to be light and portable I just don't know.
