Can memories be dialed up or down? Our Laboratory of Neuroepigenetics has shown it's possible. By changing the epigenetic "packaging" of DNA in memory neurons, they could reversibly turn memories on and off in mice.
This study, a collaboration with our Bioinformatics Competence Center and the Synapsy Centre, is the first direct proof that epigenetic changes are sufficient to control memory expression, a key step in understanding how our experiences shape our brains.

I have a turntable made in the 80's. The auto return feature (that picks up the tonearm and puts it back in its holder when the record is done) is broken. It doesn't return.
I was gonna throw the record player out and buy a new one, because that's what you do with modern electronics.
But instead I found a service manual and all I have to do is turn a single easily-accessible screw counterclockwise a little bit to fix it.
