I can be difficult to get gifts for as most things I need or want I have already got for myself.
Also I tell people to not get me tools unless I can tell them exactly which tool I want, in which case I would have just gone and got it anyway.

I have had so many wasted presents of tools that were just rubbish or worse.
One set of tools were made of chocolate, but even the chocolate was a bit rubbish!

I had found a knitter to make it for me, and even bought her the (rather expensive) books with the pattern. But I've since lost contact. My efforts to learn to knit to make it myself have been... Slow. Very very slow.

A4. Something with shared peronal meaning? I do attach people's memories to objects I have from them. The items remind me of people and make me smile. A friend commissioned a needle threader out of carob tree wood, related to a common interest. Another friend arranged for a tailor to repair a keepsake jacket I had received originally as a gift of thanks for helping tidy up after a work related training. Or a cake. Someone could make me a cake. Caramelized apple upside down cake.
