The Greens said the police action amounted to “summary physical punishment against legitimate and #peacefulprotest”.
#SueHigginson, Greens MP and the party’s spokesperson for #justice, said it was “corporal punishment against a peaceful community” caused by the “inflammatory actions” of #ChrisMinns.
She said she would be referring the “wildly inappropriate” police actions to the law enforcement conduct commission.
“A lawful and peaceful public assembly was set upon with state violence because arbitrary and excessive special powers were granted to the police, via a rushed regulation made on a Saturday, with no good cause and in defiance our implied constitutional rights to engage in political expression.
I saw with my own eyes something I had hoped to never see, but the video footage that is spreading across social media is all the evidence that any of us need to see the descent of NSW into a police state. We saw people of the #Muslim faith who were #praying set upon, dragged, assaulted and thrown to the ground. We saw dozens of armed police charging at peaceful members of our community.
Charging horses, #chemicalweapons, unprovoked #assault and #severe #policeviolence. These should never be the tools of law enforcement and their presence on #Sydney streets must be a wake-up call to all of us.”
Top Democrats in Congress have condemned #Trump for sharing a racist video of Barack and Michelle #Obama that depicts them as #apes.
Hakeem Jeffries, the House minority leader, called Trump a “#vile, #unhinged and #malignant #bottomfeeder”. He noted that the Obamas were “brilliant, compassionate and patriotic Americans” who “represent the best of this country”.
“Why are GOP leaders like John Thune continuing to stand by this #sickindividual?” Jeffries wrote on X. “Every single Republican must immediately denounce Donald Trump’s #disgusting #bigotry.”
The Senate’s top Democrat, Chuck Schumer, was similarly incensed by the video. “#Racist. Vile. #Abhorrent,” he said, while echoing Jeffries’ demand for GOP lawmakers to denounce Trump’s actions. “Trump must immediately delete the post and apologize to Barack and Michelle Obama,” Schumer added, noting that sharing the video made the president look like a “small, envious man”.

Of course the mowing project has several stages including picking up behind Summer.
Half of Summer's front acre was cut with the push mower. Now enjoying the new tulips and daffodils are just an easy stroll from the front door.
I found a couple of flowers along the way including some crocus that I was positive were gone.
