I find myself hoping that some of the states get into this. Can New York look into the mortgage filings of any Republican Senator or Representative who's purchased a home in the DC area financed with a New York based bank? Heck, could Andy Beshear in Kentucky do some digging on Mitch McConnell's and Rand Paul's living arrangements in DC? Are they renters or do they/did they have mortgages that might have listed those as primary residences? And even if they didn't have such mortgages, what are the chances that there are Republicans vulnerable to tax fraud charges over claiming property tax deductions on both a home state and DC area home?
