It's very much an and/and rather than either/or for me. Seek systemic change, but at the same time minimize the power you give to your adversaries. Every $ I don't give to Amazon is a $ they can't use against us. And if I give it to a local bookstore instead, it'll help keep them alive until after the revolution.

But completely agree this is about power, and depends on what power you have. Not about morality and using it as a stick to beat other 'less virtuous' people with.

Reminds me of something:
> These ideas need billionaire funding because, in themselves, the're an invitation to do nothing. "Vote with your wallet" isn't inspiring in itself, and it only gets worse when you understand that it's being bankrolled by people, whose wallets are many thousands if not millions times thicker than the average ones.
