There have been Public Record lawsuits about public officials blocking users, i.e. on Twitter.
The White House not setting up its own instance means it's selectively blocking voices of nonMeta users, & only choosing to let comments made by Meta users be seen, correct?
It's one thing if an instance were to block a White House instance, it's another if Potus sets up where an instance can't be heard even if it wants to be heard (just not via a Meta account).

in reply to Naomi Fast • • •Threads federation is still in beta (and not even 2 weeks old) but their team has declared their intent to be a first class Fediverse participant that will federates replies. I think their effort to ship quickly and iteratively is both refreshing and encouraging because they've shown a strong willingness to take and use feedback. That POTUS would jump in during the beta is honestly amazing. Replies will come, but it does stink to not have them. Beta life problems!

@aral @oblomov He gets no breaks on anything he's done wrong, especially because as with this genocide not being the first he's abetted, this mess which is a continuation of the problem set that, at least the US government has, with giving disabled people accessible ways to communicate with them in both directions.
*The main reason why via the #ADA it isn't legal/acceptable to deplatform/ban users on big box platforms being that because the government has used them for a "reasonable accommodation" to refuse to repair/improve their buildings & to create their own websites to enable this same sharing of meetings & information to occur as does on those social media platforms.
Now that they're coming to a decentralized platform to continue to refuse to either fix buildings or build at least their own domains on here,( if not preferably their own full & interactive websites) they deserve to being sued, not have this mess ignored.
