@Lord_Othmar why do they not just use old style stopwatches or chronographs on their watches? you are only going to be running in circles around the barracks anyway, not as if you could get lost or its some exciting new trail that you might want to share with others..
@mawhrin @Lord_Othmar I'm probably thinking of scenes from old war movies, but if a group of soldiers did want to compare their times for the run, they could just write the times on a flipchart when they were back at the barracks? and does the lap time even really matter that much, they are going to be around the same level of fitness anyway..
TBH it seems the USA soldiers are treating the war as a game and don't realise what they are getting themselves into / putting others at risk..
It doesnโt work that way in 2025 - anyone <50 would consider this as โold-schoolโ ๐ Today you need to register every meter ran in real-time and then you get a dozen of badges for how many km you ran, on which day, how fast, what shoes you used etc etc
Which is worse: that nearly 7 years after first news of #StravaLeaks, Strava still has no systemic solution, or that the protection details of the presidents still have not trained their staff on operational security sufficiently to not use Strava?
